Alan Burns
Alan graduated from Roseburg High School in 1978 and then attended San Francisco College of Mortuary Science where he graduated in 1980. He served his apprenticeship under his father at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg, where he was employed from 1978-1987. Alan has been very active in city government, working as both a city councilor and as Mayor of Florence for 12 years. He is a past president for both Rotary and Chamber of Commerce. He holds memberships in both the Florence Masonic Lodge and Elks.

Karen Burns
Karen graduated from Roseburg High School in 1979 and from Umpqua Community College in 1981. She married Alan in 1983. In 1990, Karen became a licensed Funeral Director. She is very active
in the community also. For many years she co
chaired the Rhody pagent and she as been very
active the their children in school.

Alan and Karen Burns have owned and operated Burns's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home since 1992.

Alan, Karen, and their two children, Kourtney and Kenton, are members of the Florence Christian Church. The Burns family enjoys traveling together and showing their 1957 Chevy at car shows. Leading very busy lives has always been the norm in the Burns family home.
